STADA UK Thornton & Ross – Material Planner

Huddersfield | U.K.| Full-time | Permanent

Step into a role where you’re at the heart of keeping production moving and customers supplied. As our Material Planner, you’ll own the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) process, turning complex data into clear, actionable plans for raw and packaging materials. You’ll create and maintain robust material plans that ensure every finished and semi‑finished product can be made on time—while driving smarter inventory levels and lower costs.

From short‑term, week‑by‑week availability to long‑term, strategic risk reviews across a 4–24 month horizon, you’ll be the crucial link between Planning and Procurement. If you’re ready to take control of the supply plan, sharpen requisition accuracy, and play a key role in securing reliable material supply, this is the opportunity for you.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Own the accuracy of SAP purchase requisitions up to 24 months out, making sure dates and quantities are always right.
  • Partner with Supply Planners and Procurement to give strategic suppliers a clear, rolling 24 month forecast they can rely on.
  • Stay on top of daily system alerts and convert requisitions to POs in good time, securing on time deliveries aligned with the production plan.
  • Be the first point of contact for all directly procured raw and packaging materials, ensuring they arrive when the site needs them.
  • Lead material planning input into the Capacity Requirements process, constantly scanning for supply risks and driving mitigation actions.
  • Work hand in hand with Procurement to track and manage material supply risks, preventing out of stocks and protecting production performance.

What We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrable Material Planning experience in a fast‑paced, batch manufacturing environment - ideally Pharma or FMCG.
  • Strong command of SAP, or similar MRP, with solid working knowledge of end‑to‑end supply chain processes (demand, S&OP, production & capacity planning, material planning, procurement, order fulfilment, master data, lifecycle).
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing, warehouse, shipping and receiving material flows, enabling seamless supply of materials into production.
  • Sharp critical thinker who can independently analyse logistics issues, solve problems and make sound, data‑driven decisions.
  • Highly organised, agile planner with excellent time‑management skills, able to juggle tight deadlines and respond quickly to changing customer demand or production disruptions.
  • Confident communicator and change‑agent, comfortable acting as the key interface between planning/manufacturing & suppliers and supporting process and change management initiatives.
