STADA UK Thornton & Ross – Quality Control Placement Student

Huddersfield |U.K.| Full-time | 12-month Fixed Term Contract | Shift based

Commencing July 2027 | Salary ÂŁ28,000

Step into the heart of laboratory science as a QC Analyst and see your work make a real impact from day one. In this role, you’ll generate high‑quality, accurate and timely data that keeps our products safe, effective and ready for patients and customers.

You’ll be hands‑on in the lab, testing raw materials and finished products using HPLC and wet chemistry techniques, amongst others, spotting and investigating data anomalies, and contributing to team and site‑wide objectives. You’ll also help keep our laboratory systems robust and compliant, gaining invaluable experience while working to technical, operational, SHE and cGMP standards every step of the way.

We’re looking for a curious, motivated 2nd year BSc (MChem would also be considered) student looking for a one-year placement in pharmaceutical manufacturing, who enjoys solving problems, is comfortable with change and ambiguity, and is excited to bring fresh ideas to help shape the future of our QC team.

 

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Testing samples in a timely manner to contribute towards fulfilling KPIs (Key Performance indicator)
  • Use a variety of pharmacopoeia test methods, including titration, HPLC, UV, IR, gravimetric analysis
  • Data interpretation of results
  • Completion of analytical records as per GMP requirements
  • Assessing results for out of specifications and raising LIRs when required
  • Assisting with Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigations
  • Working shift patterns available are Rotational days;
    • Mon-Thu 0600-1336 / 1330-2200
    • Fri: 0600-1336 / 1330-1730

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently studying a science related degree
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage various stakeholders in person, by phone, chat messaging, and email
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and creativity
  • Good IT skills with a proven ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
  • A precise and accurate analytical testing technique.
  • High level of integrity
  • Willingness to adapt to situations and a flexible approach to work
