Portfolio & Launches Project Manager
Milan | Italy (IT) | Full-time | Permanent
The Portfolio & Launch Project Manager will play a pivotal role in evaluating and shaping the company’s pipeline while leading local launch excellence, and will act as a structured project leader, embedding strong project management discipline across functions
This position has strong exposure to senior management and frequent interaction with Global HQ, directly contributing to strategic portfolio decisions and affiliate growth in the Italian market.
The role combines two critical dimensions: strategic portfolio & in-licensing evaluation and structured launch governance at affiliate level.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate pipeline projects (Generics, Specialty/Biosimilars, CHC), assessing market positioning, competitive landscape, financial sustainability and differentiation opportunities within the Italian market.
- Develop robust business cases in close collaboration with Business Intelligence, Commercial team / Business Units and Finance, presenting launch proposals to senior leadership and supporting HQ interactions when required.
- Identify portfolio gaps and contribute to in-licensing initiatives to strengthen long-term growth.
- Lead and coordinate local launch activities from approval to go-to-market execution, orchestrating cross-functional readiness (Commercial, Regulatory, Supply, Quality, Finance, …). Moreover, drive launch preparation, presentations and early performance tracking, ensuring disciplined execution in the first months post-launch.
- Manage the GAP process and collaborate with company functions involved in Budget, LOE and Strategic Plan processes to ensure seamless integration of future launches.
Background & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Solid experience in Portfolio Management, Business Development and/or Launch Management within pharmaceutical companies.
- Strong background in business case development, financial evaluation and investment analysis.
- Proven experience in launch preparation and cross-functional coordination.
- Structured Project Management mindset.
- Previous experience in multinational environments is preferred.
- Excellent command of English.
