Field Force Department Head  Â

Role Summary:
The Field Force Department Head provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all Regional Managers. This role is critical for driving sales performance, ensuring high-quality field execution, promoting our brands effectively, and developing a high-performing team of Medical Representatives. Success requires a results-driven leader who excels in strategic planning, team development, and navigating dynamic market conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Force Leadership:
-
Direct, coordinate, and oversee the activities of all Regional Managers.

Ensure strict adherence to national promotional strategies and compliance standards across all field operations.
-
Continuously monitor, analyze, and report on field team performance using KPIs, CRM data, and other key metrics.
Business Strategy & Execution:
-
Collaborate in the formulation and lead the execution of the commercial strategy for your designated territory.
-
Own the sales planning, forecasting, and budgeting process, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.

Conduct ongoing analysis of market dynamics, competitor strategies, and industry trends to inform tactical adjustments.
External Partner & Stakeholder Management:
-
Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key distributors and pharmacy chains to drive product placement and promotions.

Lead engagement with the hospital segment, focusing on demand generation, tender management, and securing formulary listings.
Talent & Team Development:
-
Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development for Regional Managers.

Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement within the field force.

Conduct regular field accompaniment (joint visits) to assess representative skills, provide real-time feedback, and ensure quality of customer interactions.
Cross-Functional Alignment:
-
Partner closely with internal teams including Marketing, Training, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, and HR to align objectives and execute integrated plans.

Actively contribute to cross-departmental projects involving CRM optimization, promotional cycle planning, and training program development.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Economics, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Medicine).
-
Minimum of 3-5 years of proven success in a Regional Manager or equivalent field leadership role within the pharmaceutical industry.
-
Deep understanding of both Rx and OTC commercial models, including key financial and performance metrics (KPIs, ROI, P&L).

Demonstrated experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, and territory business planning.

Advanced analytical skills with a proven ability to synthesize complex data sets into actionable business insights.

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data visualization) and experience with analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, QlikView) and CRM systems.

Established track record of successfully managing relationships with distributors, retail chains, and hospital accounts.

Formal training or significant practical experience in coaching and field force evaluation methodologies.

Ability and willingness to undertake significant domestic travel (approx. 40-60%).
