Commercial Department Head

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the company’s commercial strategy in the Kazakhstan market in line with STADA’s regional strategy.
  • Own the delivery of target KPIs for revenue, profit, market share and key commercial performance indicators.
  • Define and execute the go‑to‑market and promotion strategy for key brands, launches and priority products.
  • Plan and manage the commercial budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and optimization of costs.
  • Develop and implement pricing and discount policies, as well as terms of cooperation with distributors, pharmacy chains and key partners.
  • Manage relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
  • Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape and consumer trends; provide recommendations to adjust the commercial strategy where needed.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Medical, C&P and other internal functions.
  • Contribute to the development of the long‑term business plan and annual budget; provide regular reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, internal policies, compliance requirements and local legislation.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Economics, Marketing or a related field; MBA or other post‑graduate qualification is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial, sales or marketing roles within pharma, FMCG or a related industry, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing commercial strategies and delivering strong business results (revenue, profit, market share).
  • Deep understanding of the Kazakhstan pharmaceutical / consumer healthcare market and key sales channels (distributors, pharmacy chains, key accounts).
  • Strong experience in budget planning and management, pricing and discount policies, and commercial terms negotiations.
  • Solid analytical skills; ability to interpret market data, competitive insights and consumer trends and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Excellent leadership skills, experience in building, developing and motivating high‑performing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams (Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Medical, Marketing, etc.).
  • High standards of business ethics and full commitment to compliance with company policies and local legislation.
  • Fluent  English is required.
