About The Role:
As the Associate Director – Local BD&L, you will lead and shape the UK Local BD&L agenda, focusing on driving growth in the Generics portfolio. This hands-on leadership role involves managing the end-to-end opportunity pipeline, from proactive search and origination, through evaluation and negotiation, to deal execution and lifecycle support. You will play a critical role in transitioning external consultancy support into a sustainable in-house capability, aligned with Global BD&L frameworks while meeting UK-specific needs.
Â
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Establish and lead the Local BD&L operating model for the UK, ensuring alignment with Global BD&L frameworks and local needs.
- Own and actively deliver a UK-focused Generics opportunity wish list, including launch opportunities, portfolio gap-filling and risk mitigation strategies.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and engage potential partners such as CMOs, CDMOs, API suppliers, dossier owners and distributors.
- Lead commercial, financial, and strategic evaluations of BD&L opportunities, developing strong business cases in partnership with Finance.
- Drive end-to-end negotiations for local deals, ensuring compliance with governance, legal and procurement standards.
- Build strong internal and external relationships, acting as the senior UK interface to Global BD&L and positioning STADA UK as a partner of choice.
- Monitor market trends and provide strategic insights to enhance portfolio planning and pipeline development.
Â
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Degree in Business, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field; MBA or advanced qualifications are desirable.
- Significant experience in pharmaceutical business development, licensing, or portfolio strategy, with a proven track record in Generics.
- Deep understanding of UK generics market dynamics, supply models and launch processes.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including business case development (NPV, IRR, scenario modelling).
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Existing network of partners (e.g., CMOs, CDMOs, dossier providers) and a passion for the generics market.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and mapping tools, with familiarity in databases and prescription NPL processes.
