Engineering Manager

Site based – PR4 2DQ

Monday to Friday, 38.75 hrs per week, 8:30 am to 5 pm

Overtime/ Out of Hours Work may be required.

 

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to come in and lead our Maintenance team. You’ll need to have a combination of technical experience and leadership skills to be successful in the role and delivery of engineering initiatives.

 

The Role:

Effectively manage the Maintenance Team in order to ensure production is maximised whilst working to planned schedules and within GMP and SOP guidelines. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead the team to maximise performance allocating all maintenance tasks throughout the team.
  • Carry out emergency repairs as necessary, keeping ‘down time ‘to a minimum.
  • Ensure PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) schedules are performed as required.
  • Perform duties as required from the maintenance non-urgent job list and ensure completed in line with set targets.
  • Maintain the building and machinery to improve quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Provide cover for and assist the Electrical Maintenance Engineers and Machine Setters as required.
  • Assist with the set-up, negotiation & monitoring of various service contracts.
  • Liaise with and supervise contractors on site and ensure they follow GMP and safe systems of work.
  • Communicate with the wider team and inform Operations of any machine faults / difficulties at any time throughout the day.
  • Management of statutory and legislative compliance associated with manufacturing and facilities.
  • Support Capex projects for the site

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical engineering or similar field or equivalent qualification through experience
  • Proficiency in maintenance systems specification and design 
  • Experience with project management
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment, conduct Root Cause Analysis exercises  
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Creative thinking skills

  • Strong analytical skills
