Market Access and Pricing Senior Manager / Associate Director   

Reading | United Kingdom (GB) | Full-time | Permanent 

 

You will be part of the Global Commercial team for Pricing, Tender and Market Access. You will report to the head of market access and pricing and can be based in Reading or Bad Vilbel. The role is critical for our expanding Specialty business and you are expected to lead and provide guidance to colleagues across the organization on effective market access strategies for our innovative brands. 
 
As a Market Access Lead you develop value and access plans, identify growth opportunities and support the development of negotiation strategies and toolbox. You will coordinate the global market access activities in all markets where our brands are established or planned to be introduced with global colleagues as well as external agencies. Your main focus will be the key markets (EU4+UK) on a strategy development perspective while it will rather be operational support for implementation only in the other markets. 
 
You have the experience, educational background, skills and have a track record of delivering value and market access strategies an internal & external collaborative setting. Your knowledge from years of experience will help us stay abreast of evolving market trends, healthcare policies and pricing/reimbursement landscapes to inform and adjust market access strategies accordingly. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 
In our team you will serve our purpose of “Caring for People’s Health as a Trusted Partner”. 

  • Provide strategic guidance on market access considerations throughout product lifecycle including for in-licensing assessments 

  • Stay updated on market dynamics and healthcare policies to navigate challenges effectively. 

  • Analysis of legislation and its changes in the field of health care, the structure of financing of medical care and monitoring of changes in the external environment 

  • Identification the decision-making process for all possible reimbursement segments, indicating the main stakeholders and their role in the decision-making process 

  • Develop value propositions and evidence needed for the implementation of the market access strategy 

  • Develop Health Economics strategies including evidence development plan and models to support countries with the local adaptation and their local submissions and value demonstration 

  • Lead and develop the value and market access suite with contracting toolbox, payer objection handlers, setting a rapid response team 

  • Run and facilitate workshops and deliver trainings and presentations at appropriate level in the business either at Global level or with country teams 

  • Effective communication of the value proposition to support reimbursement submissions and subsequent negotiations 

  • Support and advise on all aspects of pricing and pricing approval 

  • Working collaboratively with the Country commercial and market access leads and understand changes in markets, market archetype, pricing and reimbursement regulation changes and impact, policy and government initiatives, etc. 

 

Your qualifications as an ideal candidate should include: 

  • Master’s degree in either the medical, pharmaceutical or health economics field 

  • 5-10 years of demonstrated experience within the pharmaceutical industry of market access and pricing in European markets with coverage of EU4+UK as a must 

  • Experience working with innovative therapies required with biosimilar experience as a preferred plus 

  • Excellent communication and influential presentation skills with the ability to engage a multitude of stakeholders from different backgrounds 

  • Health Economics background with role leading development of Health Economics strategies and models 

  • Governmental affairs and Public Affairs experience in Europe would be valuable in a transforming team and business 

  • Strong grasp of healthcare reimbursement systems, payer dynamics, and market access strategies in European markets with knowledge of Middle East and African markets as a plus 

  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams. 

  • Proven track record in developing and executing complex market access strategies. 

  • Ability to build strategies as well as execute them flawlessly 

  • Able to thrive in a global matrix organization and keep projects visible, on target as well as well organized 

  • Fluent in English, additional languages are beneficial
