Chief Accountant   

Baku | Azerbaijan (AZ) | Full-time | Permanent 

Job Responsibilities:

• Organizing accounting and financial-economic activities of the organization, controlling the efficient use of material, labor, and financial resources, as well as ensuring the safety of assets on the balance sheet.
• Directing and coordinating work on the formation and regulation of financial and economic relations, carrying out duties under the overall guidance of the CEO and collaborating with department heads.
• Developing accounting policies in accordance with accounting legislation, considering the organization's structure, operational specifics, and the necessity of ensuring financial stability.
• Leading the preparation and adoption of the chart of accounts, forms of primary accounting documents for recording economic transactions, as well as developing forms of internal accounting reports and ensuring the procedure for conducting inventories.
• Ensuring the rational organization of accounting and reporting based on maximum centralization of accounting and computational work and the use of modern technologies.
• Forming and promptly presenting complete and accurate accounting information about the organization's activities, and developing measures aimed at strengthening financial discipline.
• Organizing the accounting of assets, liabilities, and business transactions, as well as ensuring timely reflection of related operations in the accounting records.
• Monitoring compliance with the procedures for processing primary documents, calculations, and payments, as well as conducting inventories of fixed assets and cash.
• Taking measures to prevent shortages, illegal expenditures, and violations of financial legislation.
• Participating in financial investigations and compiling materials on shortages and embezzlements.
• Ensuring the legality of writing off shortages, accounts receivable, and other losses from the accounting records, as well as the preservation of accounting documents.
• Preparing financial reports, operational summaries of income and expenses, and submitting reports to the relevant authorities.
• Participating in the development and implementation of new forms and methods of accounting.
• Providing methodological assistance to departmental employees on accounting and analytical issues.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and occupational health regulations.
• Performing other tasks within the scope of competence.

Qualifications Requirements for Chief Accountant:

• Language Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Azerbaijani, English, and Russian languages.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial and accounting roles, including leadership positions.
• Competencies: Corporate loyalty, commitment, strategic orientation, analytical thinking, decision-making skills regarding transactions, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Education: Higher education in finance or economics.
• Work Schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (5 days a week).
• Personal Attributes: High level of responsibility, discipline, integrity, and ability to work as part of a team.
• Technical Skills: Advanced user of MS Office (Excel, Word), as well as familiarity with basic accounting systems.
