Director Global Logistics (f/m/d)

The Global Logistics Leader has the oversight on end-to-end (E2E) physical flows from affiliate to manufacturing sites, management of the global Narcotics operations, Track & Trace and Inter-company. The position involves the definition of standards, the optimization of costs through the distribution centres network and sourcing strategies (tenders). He/she ensures process harmonization and provides governance to sites, local and regional logistics & operations by sharing best practices. He/she enhances the visibility, reliability and control on E2E flows by Global logistics and Intercompany teams.


What you can expect:

  • You drive process robustness and standardization, as well as LSP’s performance management
  • You manage Global LSP’s selection process in collaboration with Global Procurement and Local teams
  • You develop, monitor, and evolve the logistics organizational structure and infrastructure to support business requirements (Network Design)
  • You establish and oversee appropriate collection and analysis of key logistics data
  • You actively measure and report quality, service, and operating budget metrics
  • You strive for continuous improvement
  • You lead the global coordination to work toward common best in class solutions.
  • You document & establish the Good Distribution Practices (GDP) in collaboration with the Quality Department
  • You work closely with the Packaging Department to bring packaging improvements for transport optimisations
  • You maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements relative to cross-border movements and customs duties for import/export
  • You deliver the audit program for periodically review compliance of operations
  • You act as approval authority for warehouse expenses (capex and opex)
  • You maintain Suppliers’ contracts in compliance with Safety Procedures and Quality Agreements
  • Successful execution of internal & client's initiatives related to logistics
  • You prepare and escalate capital funding requirements through the designated process for review and approval
  • You ensure talent acquisition and the training, coaching, and development of his/her team
  • You create a performance driven organization
  • You lead the Narcotics’ Logistics team
  • You lead the Track & Trace activities
  • You lead the Intercompany (previously named Customer Service) activities to deliver high levels of service to internal customer
  • You focus the organization on re-engineering efforts including systems and processes to reduce costs or improve efficiency
  • In collaboration with affiliates and department External Supply Organization you support regular business reviews that monitor and take actions ensuring customer service levels are met


Who we are looking for:

  • Business degree/diploma from College or University
  • At least 10+ years of international work experience in the area of Supply Chain Management preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
  • Strong leader to bring innovative ideas to fruition and drive process adherence through competency, dedication and ability to motivate.
  • Well-developed analytical, conceptual and communication skills
  • Customer-orientated behavior with a highly dedicated commitment and a high sense of flexibility
  • Well-grounded understanding of Supply Chain processes combined with a solution-oriented attitude
  • Experience in project work as well as a strong ability to lead and work in a team
  • Advanced proficiency in IT landscapes with a good knowledge in SAP
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluent in English
